1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 c5 4. Nf3 cxd4 5. Bd3 Nc6 6. O-O Be7 7. Re1 Bd7 8. a3 h5 9. Nbd2 Nh6 10. h3 $6 {First interesting moment in the game. This 'natural move' I considered as call for immediate action against white king.} g5 $5 {I still maintained option to castle queen side. Anyway it is not clear how white could prevent opening of files on his king side, particularly because if black manages to go for 0-0-0, both rooks would immediatelly occupy h and g file.} 11. b4 (11. Nb3 $5 g4 12. Nfxd4 $1 {Since gxh4 wouldn't work for a while (due to Qd1-h5), I would need to consider to prepare queen side castling first which might give white some extra time to strenghten his position.}) 11... g4 12. b5 {The only way. For instance, in case of retreat of knight to h2, black could not play gxh3 due to hanging pawn on h5, but simple Qc7 with threat of taking on e5 along with possible 0-0-0 would be very good for black.} Na5 {Between taking on f3 and moving knight to a5 I choose this line; although moving the knight on the edge of board is not perfect choice, this knight would have good defansive role for the moment because it would control c4 square and block white a pawn.} 13. Nxd4 Qc7 14. b6 $5 {Giving up pawn for the opening of b file which will be proven as source of counter play later in the game. I would rate this move as 'interesting', regardless mathematical calculations.} Qxb6 15. N4b3 Nc6 {I decided to keep my knight on the board since from c6 it would control certain important squares; e5, d4, a7.} (15... O-O-O 16. Nxa5 Qxa5 17. Nb3 Qc7 $15) 16. Rb1 O-O-O 17. c4 {Understandable move. It is in interest of white to open files towards black king.} gxh3 18. c5 {Suddenly white decided not to play 'natural' cxd5 move but to advance to c5 instead. It seems that this was clearly better for black, but this pawn will amazingly have it's role again later!} (18. cxd5 h2+ 19. Kh1 Ng4 $5) 18... Qc7 19. Nf3 (19. g3 h4) 19... hxg2 20. Nbd4 {Now we see the 'influence' of c5 pawn. Due to weakness on b6, it would not be advisable to play a7-a6 for black. But then, how to prevent Nd4-b5-d6 with pretty crumpled position of black pieces on queen side.} Nxd4 21. Nxd4 Rdg8 22. c6 $1 {Amazingly, but c pawn is riding again! Although c6 is defended 3 times, I had only one move here.} Bxc6 {Otherwise white rook would go to b7 with very uncertain position. Taking with queen, btw, didn't look nice due to Bc1-h6 with immediate threat of Rc1. Although, by help of modern engines or by going deeper into position, there might way to maintain good chances for black, let us be reminded that this was rapid game.} (22... bxc6 23. Ba6+ Kd8 24. Rb7 $13) 23. Nxc6 bxc6 $6 {Now Qxc6 should be recomended, but I played in accordance with my previous calculations considering that queen would still be exposed on c file.} 24. Ba6+ Kd8 25. Rb7 {Suddenly white managed to create certain threats against my king, which was more or less well protected until few moves earlier. All he needed to do was to set his queen on b file with deadly threats. Generally there was only one move for black to prevent such outcome.} Qa5 $1 {The only move, but sufficient. Due to hanging Re1 white had to pause his actions on b file for a while.} 26. Rxa7 $2 {Mistake. Not just that a7 pawn is useless, hence white spent one tempo for nothing, but this move gave critically important tempo to the black...} Bc5 $1 27. Bd2 (27. Ra8+ Kc7 28. Rxg8 Nxg8 $19 {Position would be getting more simplified with three extra pawns for black and (still) open questions regarding the white king.}) 27... Qb6 28. Ra8+ Kd7 29. Rxg8 {White run out from shots. Perhaps Qf3 might gave certain hopes in maintaining counter play, but after simle Rxa8 white would not have any compensation nor drawing chances.} Bxf2+ 30. Kxg2 Rxg8+ 31. Kh2 Ng4+ 32. Kh3 Bxe1 {White resigned.} 0-1
