Kf2 {I wanted to play something that would be out of the ordinary and slightly troll. Usually, most of our games end up being in the Italian. In the database I was able to find blitz games between Magnus vs Wesley So / Mitrabha Guha.} e5 3. e3 Nc6 4. Bb5 a6 5. Bxc6+ bxc6 6. Ne2 Nf6 7. Rf1 e4 {At this point I was already out of my limited preparation.} 8. fxe4 {After this move I had considered some variations with Ng4+ and Qh4 ideas, which seemed perfectly fine for me.} Nxe4+ (8... Ng4+ 9. Kg1 Qh4 10. h3 Bd6 11. Qe1) 9. Kg1 Bg4 10. Qe1 Bd6 11. d3 Bxe2 {I had not considered Bxe2, and was slightly worried at the time, because after Qxe2 I lose control of the h4 square and there are ideas with Bxh2 and Qh4. Luckily, for me there is not forced checkmate, which I had calculated.} 12. Qxe2 Bxh2+ 13. Kxh2 Qh4+ 14. Kg1 Ng3 15. Qe1 Qh1+ 16. Kf2 Nxf1 17. Qxf1 {I thought here that Humayun should have kept the Queens on the board, as with the King weakened there could always be some unpleasant threats.} Qxf1+ 18. Kxf1 {After the Queens traded off I was already happy with my position and optimistic of my chances. With 2 minor pieces for a rook and a pawn. Additionally, black has some long term weaknesses with the doubled c pawns. I thought the position was equal, if not slightly better for white.} Rb8 19. b3 h5 20. Ba3 g5 21. Nd2 Rh7 22. e4 Kd7 23. Re1 Re8 24. e5 Rh6 25. Nf3 g4 26. Nh4 Rhe6 27. d4 {At this point I knew I should be clearly better or even winning, with two strong central pawns and ideas of my knight jumping in.} f6 28. Nf5 {This was quite a big mistake as it turned out, should have gone} (28. Ng6 fxe5 29. Nxe5+ {With this the knight strongly stands on the e5 square controlling alot of key squares, and there are no huge weaknesses in white's position.}) 28... Rg8 29. Nh6 Rg6 {But in the variation I chose I completely missed that after Nf7 which I was planning to play there is Ke8 instead of fxe5, and my knight is trapped.} 30. Nf5 (30. Nf7 Ke8 (30... fxe5 31. Nxe5+)) 30... fxe5 31. Nh4 {This is just a huge blunder. Should have instead taken on e5 and gone into an equal endgame, but because I had lost my advantage already I wanted to continue playing. The endgame after trading on e5 also didn't look pleasant.} (31. dxe5 Rg5 32. Nd4 Rexe5 33. Rxe5 Rxe5) 31... Rgf6+ 32. Kg1 e4 {I was completely suprised that Humayun didn't take on d4.} 33. Re3 {After this I already thought it wasn't so easy for black to break through.} Rf7 {This clarified that Humayun wanted to double up and infiltrate through the F-file and try for Rf2.} 34. Bb4 {The plan behind this was to go Be1 and stop and Rf2 stuff.} Ref6 35. Re2 {Instead I decided to go Re2 first (huge blunder), followed by Be1, completely forgetting about backrank mate threats.} g3 {I knew my position was already lost, I continued playing hoping for some miracles.} 36. Re1 Rf2 37. Ng6 R7f5 38. Ne7 Rg5 39. Rf1 Rxc2 40. Ra1 Rg4 41. Nf5 Re2 42. Be1 h4 43. Kf1 Rxe1+ {Humayun once again blunder back, thinking of Rxe1 and missing Kxe1. Avoiding the fork.} 44. Kxe1 (44. Rxe1 Rf4+ 45. Ke2 Rxf5) 44... Rf4 45. Ne3 {The computer says this is still completely better for black, but in the game I was completely oblivious to this.} Rf2 46. b4 Ke6 47. Rc1 Kd7 48. a3 Rb2 49. Kd1 {Computer once again finds a resource with h3. But the follow up is quite difficult to find. At this point Humayun was down to about a minute, against my 20 minutes. Without increment I already considered myself winning.} Rb3 50. Nc2 Rb2 51. Kd2 Rb3 52. Rh1 h3 {Humayun had lost his h pawn, which was the only chance of any draw, this was followed by a series of inaccurate moves.} 53. Rxh3 Rd3+ 54. Ke2 Rc3 55. Kd1 Rd3+ 56. Kc1 e3 57. Rxg3 {Humayun decided to resign the position is completely hopeless, and he only had about 20 seconds on his clock, with my 20 minutes.} 1-0
