B78: Sicilian Dragon: Yugoslav Attack 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 6.Be3 Bg7 7.f3 0-0 8.Bc4 In the Yugoslav Attack white hopes to break open the K-side and attacl om the h-file. Black seeks counterplay on the Q-side. Nc6 9.Qd2 Bd7 10.0-0-0 Rc8 11.Bb3 Ne5 12.h4 Nc4 13.Bxc4 Rxc4 14.h5 Nxh5 15.g4 Nf6 16.Nde2 Re8 Well played! Ot takes away the B's escape square, but back gets enough compensation. 17.e5 Nxg4 18.fxg4 Bxg4 19.exd6 19.Rdg1 dxe5 20.Qxd8 Rxd8 21.b3 Bxe2 22.bxc4 Bxc4 23.Rh4 In this crazy position black is slightly betterm but Apicella,M (2515)-Sermier,G (2282) Avoine 1999 was eventually drawn. 19...Qxd6 Black's 3 Ps are more than enough compensation for the N. 20.Qe1 This is a tactical error. White should have allowed the Qs to come off the board because now back can get a strong attack. Qa6 Black is still better after this, but 20...Bxc3 was much stronger. 20...Bxc3 21.Nxc3 21.Rxd6 Bxe1 22.Rd3 Bxe2 21...Bxd1 21.Rd3 b5       White is lost here as he is facing an overwhelming attack and has no chance for play on the K-side. 22.Kb1 h5 There was no need for this. Continuing with 22...b4 was a good option. 23.Nd4 b4 24.Nd5 Qb7 25.Nb3 Bf5 26.Na5 Rxc2       Decisive! 27.Nxb7 27.Kxc2 was no better. Qxd5 28.Qf1 Rd8 29.Qxf5 Qxf5 27...Bxd3 28.Nxb4 Rxb2+ 29.Kc1 Bf5 30.Bxa7 Rb1+ 31.Kd2 Rxb4 Stronger than 31...Rxe1 32.Rxe1 Black wins. 32.Nc5 Rd8+ White resigned. 32...Rd8+ 33.Ke2 Bg4+ 34.Kf2 Rb2+ 35.Kg3 Re2 36.Qxe2 Bxe2 37.a4 Be5+ 38.Kf2 Bg4 Black's 3 extra Ps assures the win. 0–1
