1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 d6 4. Nc3 Bf5 {quite a few people have played this
against me at blitz and it has even been used in a few correspondence games
but I don't understand it at all - to my eyes it just loses a tempo (or
possibly two) vs a Saemisch Kings Indian.} 5. f3 g6 6. e4 Bd7 {now White
proceeds to play a series of standard Saemisch attacking moves.} 7. Bd3 Bg7 8.
Nge2 O-O 9. Bg5 h6 10. Be3 e6 11. Qd2 Kh7 12. h4 {Black is probably already
lost.} h5 13. Bg5 Qe8 14. O-O-O a6 15. Rdg1 b5 16. g4 b4 (16... bxc4 17. Bxc4
Bb5 18. Bxf6 Bxf6 19. Bb3 Bxe2 {might have given more practical survival
chances}) 17. Nd1 a5 18. gxh5 Nxh5 19. Ng3 {often a key move in breaking down
Black's defence in a Saemisch.} f6 20. Be3 e5 {sensibly trying to block lines..
.} 21. Nxh5 gxh5 22. f4 {...but White finds another way to prise them open and
intends to take aim at h5} Bg4 23. Nf2 exf4 (23... Nd7 {might have hung on
longer}) 24. Bxf4 Rg8 25. Nxg4 hxg4 26. Rxg4 Qd7 27. Rhg1 Na6 28. Kb1 a4 29.
e5+ Kh8 30. e6 Qe7 31. Qe2 f5 32. Rg6 Qxh4 33. Qg2 Qxf4 34. Rh1+ Bh6 35. Rhxh6+
Qxh6 36. Rxh6# {This was one of those games that makes the Saemisch look like
a forced win for White, and perhaps with an extra tempo or two it is!} 1-0
